3 Vital Steps to Break Through Comfort Zones to live an Unlimited Life: Brief Masterclass

  1. Start small to build confidence;
  2. Challenge yourself to push your boundaries;
  3. Have patience with your spiritual growth.

This brief Masterclass explores 3 vital steps to break through your comfort zones to grow spiritually, to move from 'safe' to living a life that is unlimited and able to achieve 'self-attainment'.

There is an inspiring story of the Falcon and The Branch:

Once there was a king who received a gift of two magnificent falcons. They were peregrine falcons, the most beautiful birds he had ever seen. He gave the precious birds to his head falconer to be trained.

Months passed, and one day the head falconer informed the king that though one of the falcons was flying majestically, soaring high in the sky, the other bird had not moved from its branch since the day it had arrived.

The king summoned healers and sorcerers from all the land to tend to the falcon, but no one could make the bird fly.

He presented the task to the members of his court, but the next day, the king saw through the palace window that the bird had still not moved from its perch.

Having tried everything else, the king thought to himself, “Maybe I need someone more familiar with the countryside to understand the nature of this problem.” So he cried out to his court, “Go and get a farmer.”

In the morning, the king was thrilled to see the falcon soaring high above the palace gardens. He said to his court, “Bring me the doer of this miracle.”

The court quickly located the farmer, who came and stood before the king. The king asked him, “How did you make the falcon fly?”

With his head bowed, the farmer said to the king, “It was very easy, your highness. I simply cut the branch where the bird was sitting.”

We are all made to fly!  Is complacency limiting your progress to advance beyond your current state of awareness? Are comfort zones prohibiting your personal, business, social, and spiritual expansion and potential? Is the desire not to experience any discomfort so great that you refuse to want “more” refinement in your life?

Kristy Kaye in her book The Constitution of Our Soul suggests, “If we keep repeating what we do each day, living in comfort zones, our consciousness is more related to limbo (or procrastination) where we sit on the fence because it is safe.  We want to stay comfortable in our life with money in our bank account.  We may have used our intelligence to reach this plateau, and now instead of crossing the bridge to self-attainment and putting our footprints firmly in the sands of time, we may be living off old investments.

If we hop off the fence, we can become hungry for more spiritual information and develop more ability with how to use it.  We learn to be more of a manager in our life.  We can become totally committed to ourselves, and as we climb the level of consciousness of this mastership of ourselves, we usually enjoy a better lifestyle where we are more relaxed with who we are and can communicate with people in a more confident dialogue. ´

It is imperative to move out of our comfort zones to experience fulfilment, otherwise we stifle our growth.  In this growth zone, we learn to try new things, set new goals, and realise the aspirations we have set our intentions to achieve in this lifetime.  We challenge and advance our energy to discover and get clarity around our unique vibration, path, and purpose.

Three vital steps to break through comfort zones are:

 Step 1:  Start small to build confidence.

    You don’t have to take a big leap to achieve success.  The key to growth and success is to take small, consistent steps and repeat what works for you.  Just by starting and actioning with purpose, you will build momentum and confidence to reach your goal.

    Step 2: Challenge yourself to push your boundaries beyond the realm of complacency.

    The further you stretch the further you will go. There is so much power in taking action.  Challenge your thoughts and beliefs that have you anchored in the past or created a fear of the future.  Don’t allow judgements of yourself or others to exploit you physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually.

    Step 3: Have patience with your spiritual growth.

    It’s not an overnight miracle.  Take the time to discover the authentic you and listen to your feelings (different from emotions).  Read our How to discover the Echo of your true feelings article.  Sometimes, you may feel you need time to recharge or regroup your energy.  Although it may seem to plateau any apparent progress, it may be necessary to be in this state for a short time to consolidate any new understandings you have acquired. The opposite may also be true, if you stretch your comfort zone too far, too quickly, you may experience fear or frustration, which prevents you from taking any further action.

    Brene Brown says, if you’re comfortable you’re not being brave.  “If you’re going to be brave, you’re going to know uncertainty and risk and emotional exposure.  And if you think you’re being courageous, and you’re comfortable, you’re probably not being that brave.”

    To help you transcend your comfort zone further, consider the following questions:

    • What areas of my life do I experience comfort zones and what are their edges or walls?
    • What motivates me to change and succeed?
    • What, When, Where and Why are my comfort zones limiting my development, expansion, and potential?
    • What have I forgotten about my divine, authentic self?
    • Am I prepared to challenge thoughts, opinions, beliefs, and expectations of myself or others?
